Bring a Mediterranean feel to your patio, doorstep or balcony with a citrus tree! Citrus plants don’t survive Irish winters outdoors, but in containers they can be moved indoors over winter, then returned to a sunny, sheltered spot in summer. Care tips: Summer: Water freely with rainwater, as containers dry out quickly. Winter: Allow the compost surface to dry slightly before watering thoroughly with tepid rainwater. Avoid overwatering and never leave pots standing in water. Yellowing or dropping leaves often indicate too much water. Humidity: Citrus appreciate humidity, especially indoors. Place the pot on a tray of gravel or clay pellets (water just below the surface), group plants together, or mist early in the morning in summer.
