High performance fiberglass: With its dense core, fiberglass provides outstanding sound absorption, making them ideal for the most demanding acoustic treatment scenarios. Sustainable polyester: Durable, impact-resistant and eco-friendly, polyester panels are 100% recyclable and made from 60% recycled material. They resist moisture and bacteria and even work as office pin boards. More colors: We offer our panels in a wide range of colors across 4 fabric lines. Classic 700 Series – Timeless colors with a warm aesthetic. Acoustics America – A vibrant spectrum of colors inspired by American landscapes. Guilford of Maine Anchorage – Features a unique crepe texture often favored by designers for its distinctive look. Guilford of Maine FR701 – Finely woven with a smooth texture, this designer-favorite fabric offers a refined look. More sizes: These panels are available in 20 sizes, ranging from 12″ x 12″ (1′ x 1′) all the way up to 120″ x 48″ (10′ x 4′). Multiple thicknesses: Our panels are available in two thicknesses for your unique treatment needs: 1″ inch panels are an ideal acoustic treatment for residential spaces and light commercial applications. 2″ thick acoustic panels are optimal for heavy commercial spaces such as large gathering areas, music venues, restaurants and open office perimeters. A 2 inch thickness will also help you achieve maximum absorption per square foot of space. Multiple mounting options: We offer two different mounting options, tailored to your application. Impaling clips: Suitable for wall-mount applications. Easy to install and included with your order, by default. Loctite Power Grab Adhesive is required for installation and screws are not included. Rotofast™ Snap-On anchors: This mounting option is suited for both wall and ceiling direct-mount applications. This option also does not require adhesive. Rotofast™ Polyester Snap-On anchors: This mounting option is required when a polyester core is chosen and offers the same benefits as our standard Rotofast Snap-on anchors. Installation: Our panels are easily installed using our mounting options listed above. We recommend installing panels a minimum of a 3 inches away from each other, or from walls, or molding. Panels should be kept a minimum of 12” away from ductwork and lighting, so as not to interfere with airflow or light disbursement. This panel separation allows the sides of the panel to also absorb sound, which maximizes each panel’s effectiveness and improves the aesthetics of the treatment. Placing panels closer together than 3” creates a crowded look and a less appealing “seam.” Safety and peace of mind: These panels are Class A fire rated (the highest rating possible) for use in indoor applications. No, this product is not designed to block or prevent the transfer of sound from one space to another. This is a sound-absorbing product, and it is designed to effectively reduce echo, reverberation and ambient noise. By addressing these issues, these products can dramatically improve sound quality and speech intelligibility in a space. To address sound-transfer issues from adjacent rooms or spaces,  sound-blocking products are required.  For some further explanation on the differences between these two concepts, click here for our video on sound blocking. Please note that quality sound blocking products for walls requires adding layers of drywall, mass loaded vinyl, and green glue. While not overly complicated, these projects do require skills in drywall construction, and the ability to closely follow design instructions for creating a sound proof wall. Do you offer your panels, clouds and bass traps in custom sizes? Yes! We can custom cut any size acoustic panel, ceiling cloud or bass trap to your desired dimensions. Here’s how: Select the STANDARD panel, cloud or bass trap that is large enough for your needed custom cuts at our website. Under the “Custom Options” section on the product page, answer  “Yes” as to whether you require a custom size. Select the desired custom length and width, using the sliders that appear. If you do not see the dimension(s) you need on the slider, please double check your selected starting panel size. If you are looking for a custom shape, then our polyester fabric wrapped core panels are your choice. We can customize our polyester panels into various shapes. Give us a call to learn more at (800) 569-4907. What thickness should I choose? We offer our panels, clouds and panel kits in 1 and 2 inch thicknesses. A 1 inch thickness is ideal for residential spaces with minimal people. A 2 inch thickness is suited to commercial spaces such as restaurants, offices, houses of worship and auditoriums. A 2 Inch thickness is also ideal for maximum absorption per square foot of space. Impaling Clip vs. Rotofast Installation: What’s the difference? We offer two mounting options for our acoustic panels, impaling clips and Rotofast Anchors. Impaling clips are the industry standard for wall-mounting panels and are included with your order. Designed for wall mount applications only. Panels require Loctite Power Grab Adhesive and screws for installation. Adhesive and screws are sold separately. Best suited where ceiling mounting is not required. Rotofast offers numerous key advantages over impaling clips, such as: Rotofast is suitable for both wall and ceiling flush-mount applications. No adhesive (glue) is required for installation. Less mess and cleanup. Standoff blocks can be used to further improve the product’s acoustic performance. If you’re installing acoustic panels on the walls only, impaling clips are a reliable choice. If you want less mess or plan on mounting your panels to the ceiling, Rotofast anchors are the preferred option. Do your panels come with everything I need to install them? Yes. All acoustic panels include standard impaling clips free of charge. Adhesive is required (sold separately) and installation is explained in our installation instructions. Drywall anchors and screws (or other hardware appropriate for your wall surface) are also needed to mount your standard impaling clips (available from any hardware store).  IMPORTANT: Standard and angled impaling clips are for wall mounting only and are not to be used for ceiling direct-mount applications or for any surface that is beyond perpendicular to the floor. Our acoustic panel kits ship with angled impaling clips. Adhesive is not required for this wall mount option. Optional Hardware: Rotofast Snap-on anchors are available as an alternative installation option at product selection. They do not require adhesive. If you choose Rotofast Snap-on anchors at product selection, standard impaling clips will not be included with your order. Orders that include Rotofast snap-on anchors will ship with the exact quantity required for installation. We recommend purchasing additional anchors in advance if there is any uncertainty or if you would like backup pieces. Do your acoustic panels and ceiling clouds have a wooden frame? No. Acoustics America acoustic panels and ceiling clouds are manufactured using a frameless design.  We intentionally design our acoustic products without a wood frame because frameless delivers better performance. Additional benefits of our frameless acoustic panels and clouds include: Lighter weight: Frameless acoustic panels are easier to ship, handle, and install than wood‑framed alternatives. Improved sound absorption: Our panels absorb sound on the edges too, giving more absorption area per panel. Wooden framed panels do not. Eco‑friendly: No trees are used in manufacturing, making our panels a more sustainable acoustic treatment. High‑density fiberglass core: Our denser fiberglass core offers the ultimate amount of sound absorption per inch. Additional absorption: Unlike wood-backed panels, when installed using stand‑off mounts, furring strips, or suspended methods, our frameless acoustic panels absorb sound from both the front and back. Is fiberglass better than mineral wool or foam in terms of acoustical performance? Yes, it is!  Our high density (6 PCF) Acoustic Fiberglass board provides superior sound absorption when compared to other materials. For our 1″ and 2″ thick panels, the performance of our fiberglass is better than same thickness of foam, Mineral wool, or Owens Corning 703.  Also, our core material is quite rigid, so a wooden frame is not required. Do your panels and clouds have fabric on both sides? Our panels and clouds have fabric on the front of the panel only. If you are looking for a panel with fabric on both sides for desktop or floor standing applications, you might consider gluing two panels together. We do not recommend hanging or suspending panels that you have glued together. Here is a link to our Loctite Power Grab Adhesive. Are your panels and clouds fire-rated? Our products are safe and effective and have been tested by an independent lab. All our panels and clouds carry a Class A fire rating which is the highest rating possible under the ASTM E84, a test used by code officials and regulatory agencies in the acceptance of interior finish materials. What are the differences between your polyester and fiberglass cores? Polyester and fiberglass acoustical panels differ in material composition, performance, and application. When choosing between the two, consider your specific acoustic needs, environmental preferences, and aesthetic goals of your space. Both options can effectively enhance acoustics, but each excels in different scenarios.
